Once I read this quote, it sank deep in my heart. Teaching isn't only about explaining material and expanding our student's knowledge. It is much more than that. But how often do we meet a teacher like the one described by Tomlin?
A remarkable teacher would inspire students and stir their minds and souls. She would have an influence on her students and the ability to build their enthusiasm and motivation to learn from deep within. She would discuss with them real life topics, and have them share their perspectives and look for answers.

I liked this quote! It describes the importance of the teacher and his/her multi-tasks.
ReplyDeleteSo, the teacher's role as you said is not just explaining what is required to be explained. She/He has many different tasks at the same time.
There is a difference between teaching and educating.To teach is to transfere your knowledge of a material and thinking skills to attain the intended learning objectives.
ReplyDeleteBut to educate , is to transfere not only knowledge but also emotions , ethics , habits, rights and duties with so much caring of students difficulties and abilities.In this case, the message of education will be mastered.
she/he would be an incredible teacher if she/he influence students that way. it is not easy to get into someone mind and make them see the good things and the positive side of education. some teachers really give bad impression to students they only force them to study and cover material without giving them the chance of knowing the benefit of these info they're learning.

Being a teacher isn't just about mere lecturing, or filling our students minds with knowledge then come the following day to check whether they memorized them or not. A teacher is an educator, and the concept of the latter is a very broad thing, for it includes being the leader, motivator, enlightner, coach, mother etc....
ReplyDeleteMost of students in the current time don't even have a right to speak or discuss through their classes especially in the public schools. I don't know how they expect their success when they stress them out.
ReplyDeleteteaching is the most important task in life and the most hard one also,to be a teacher not to give education but also to leave something in their souls,always remember you as idol,if they hate a subject,you make them love it and engaged with you because of your behavior with them,that what we need in all schools.
