Yesterday, I spent some time setting up a reading corner for my little ones at my school. I found pleasure working on something I've always wanted to achieve. Although it is simple, but teaching kids to love reading is highly important. Through reading, students can improve many of their critical, comprehensive, and analytical skills, added to building up a word bank in their unique minds and practicing how to read fluently. Frank Serafini said, " There is no such thing as a child who hates to read; there are only children who have not found the right book." or the right motivation, I would add. Reading shouldn't be presented to children as a duty or an obligation that they would be punished if they don't fulfill. It should be presented as something precious, something enriching for their minds and souls. And referring back to what Serafini had said, it is also very important to supply students with books that are worth reading, books that can stretch their imagination, and can propel them to discover their inner self and reach out toward people who are different than themselves. Never under-estimate the value of reading! ❤

i totally agree with you that reading is something very beneficial and important. however, its spread widely thee days since we are now in a very developed world, and with the vast spread of technology this needed people to be open to read much more than past days, in addition to the easy access for internet which encouraged people to read more software copies and not just tangible books .
ReplyDeleteGood Job Nourhan! Reading is one of the major things in our lives. Its basically everything! Especially now, in the 21st century, one cant live without reading, and its very important to instill in our students minds and hearts the love of reading, for it opens lots of doors in front of them. Having teachers like you who encourage her students to read is something rare nowadays:( keep it up :)
ReplyDeleteGreat Job Nourhan! We are really in need to this kind of motivation.
ReplyDeleteReading is one of the most important things we can do to prepare children with a foundation for academic excellence.
oh that's really fabulous, as a first impression I loved your special decoration. However it's a pretty interesting idea that encourage and motivate students to read and train them for specifying an adequate time to read more in their future and real life. Good job and keep up !
ReplyDeletea Chinese proverb states that " a book is like a garden carried in the pocket". reading books is an exercise to our brain. it provides knowledge and information, enrich the readers language and vocabulary and develop creativity. the more we read the more we increase our ability to emphasize others. books are the window we look through to the world.
ReplyDeleteMaking a corner for reading is one of the key factors for better classroom management, that would get students used to organize their classroom environment. Usually we start naming corners for KG pupils to get used while they are getting older.
